Some words about Mars Express and Beagle 2 :
Mars Express is an European Space Agency's (ESA) mission to Mars.
The spacecraft was launched on 2nd June 2003 and arrived for Christmas.
It carries different instruments for studying the Red Planet into a near
polar orbit.
It also carried the lander Beagle2 which was released a few days before
the probe went into orbit.
Beagle 2 had to land « softly » on Mars surface and made various experiments.
However, as there was no sign from the lander, it was declared lost on
11, February 2004.
An inquiry has been held to determine the reasons of Beagle 2's silence.

Some words about this site :
This site presents firstly the Mars Express and the Beagle 2 probes through
3 dimensional and interactive models and secondly two virtual reality simulations about the trip to
Mars and the landing phase.
The language used is VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language).
This language was especially created in the nineties for Internet 3 dimensional
universes.
As Flash animations, VRML requires to install a plug-in.
